Megan and Chase: {Wedding}

RAIN! Yes, that’s what it was doing when I woke up the morning of Megan and Chase’s wedding. Of course, that’s what the weather had been like for the past month, so it really was no surprise that on the most important day for two people starting their new lives together….that it would be raining. Did I mention the wedding is OUTSIDE? Yes, Megan and Chase had a plan b, but who wants to go to plan b! So we get up and get ready for the day. As we drive, I always thank God for every opportunity that comes my way….I ask Him to help me be focused and alert…to do the best job for Megan and Chase on their day…that they will have a beautiful set of memories to look at….I ask God to be with Megan and Chase. On this day, however, I thanked God for a beautiful day no matter how the weather was going to be. Well, I kid you not, the further we drove, the better the weather got! The clouds started to disappear and the sun came out! No joke! By the time we arrived in Oakland,…. well, words cannot describe the scene well enough, so I will just show you how the rest of the day went! But before I do, I want to thank God again for such a beautiful day!!!

Look really close and you will see the butterflies the wedding party released as Chase kissed his bride!

Megan and Chase love MSU, graduated from MSU, are huge MSU fans…you name it…MSU!!!

When Chase took a look at his truck all HOTTY TODDY’d up…….well, you know what they say, “A picture is better than a thousand words” check out the pic below this one.

Megan is a dancer, so naturally they put together a choreographed number for their 1st dance. I thought it was great. Chase, you were awesome! Really!

Chase decided he would surprise Megan with a little extra fun for the garter toss! Just look at Megan’s expression! Priceless!

And this is what we were treated to as the day came to a close. Thank you, Heavenly Father for a gorgeous day!

Thank you, Megan and Chase for allowing us to be a part of your day! We had a great time in Oakland, MS. I wish you all the happiness that life can give.

Hey Gang! Where have I been, you ask? Busy, busy, busy! With everything from taking photos to editing photos to taking care of a sick mother-in-law to being a band parent to trying to keep a house to……well, you get the picture, right? I hope everyone is having a blessed and beautiful fall. It’s been so rainy here, but we’re surviving. It’s finally starting to dry up a little.

This is Ashley. She is a senior at Houston High School. We had a great time at her senior session. It’s so much fun just to drive around looking for new places to shoot. You just never know what you’re gonna find.

At this particular time, I am uploading to two different places at the same time….how cool is that? The wonders of technology. I’ll post more photos very soon!

Abi Gore: {1st Birthday}

Abi is one year old! My how time flies! It seems like she should only be about six months old. We met in the park to have a little photo fun and birthday cake fun! I love my nieces and nephews so much. I always have a blast with them and this time was no exception.

Maybe one day, Abi will be a famous composer and will direct great symphony orchestras. I’m sure she’ll be glad of these! Look at the concentration on her face…..adorable.

We have had so much rainy weather lately that we have to plan on a day to day basis. You just never know if it’s going to be raining. Me personally….I’ve had enough rain, but I know God know best. Friday was one of those days. I had the privilege of taking Hannah’s senior pictures. Hannah, her mom, and I had a great time together. Let me tell you one thing internet peeps, Hannah is absolutely drop dead gorgeous! It was so much fun photographing her. When we were finished, I was just getting started…that’s how much fun I had. The weather really cooperated with us.

Emily and Jess: Married

I love, love, love weddings! I guess I better love weddings since that is part of my job description. But I have to say something: it just doesn’t seem like work when you’re having so much fun. I thank God everyday that He has allowed me to do something I love and get paid to do it. I am truly blessed!

Emily and Jess are a great couple. We (Jessica and myself) had a great time. Emily made us feel right at home. By the way, thanks, Emily, for the barbeque at lunch…it was the best! Emily is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, not to mention her traffic stopping, drop dread, good looks! And believe me, Jess is equally good looking with his tall frame and handsome-ness (is that even a word?).

I was so excited when Emily and Jess said they wanted to do a “first look”. It makes the day go so smoothly. These images say “Hello beautiful, I want to make you my bride…today!”

Did I lie????? Heavens NO! Just look at this image of Jess….HANDSOME.

Photographers aren’t just photographers. Sometimes they are what they need to be in whatever situation they find themselves in….florist, maybe? Oh, yes, we certainly don’t need to forget about the fabulous Carol. She was a god send for the day. I wish I had her at every wedding. She was the go-to gal. Thanks so much, Carol.

Misty and Sam

The day started out much like all the other days we’d been having…..rain, rain, and guess what?..more rain! The weather man said it should be clearing off for the afternoon with a slight chance of showers. So my spirits were lifted a little. It seemed like we were having “monsoon season” in our “neck of the woods” . When would it ever be dry again and when would we ever see the sunshine?!?

I’ll tell ya, Misty and Sam are real troopers for taking a chance on their engagement session. But that’s just the kind of people they are. I had the best time with them. They are so much in love. Everywhere we went they were just talking to each other with such ease…ya know the kind of ease two people have when they are really ready to spend the rest of their days with one another. I love to be around couples like that. Of course, it didn’t hurt that they are both good looking and very photogenic. Two school teachers that fell in love…..and one of them is a football coach. I’ll let you figure out which one. By the way, Misty doesn’t think she takes good pictures! Well, I have to differ with you, Misty. You are beautiful on the inside and out. Really.

Ok, here in the south, we have two very intense rivals…..Mississippi State Bulldogs and Ole Miss Rebels. It just so happens that Misty is a die hard Ole Miss fan and Sam is a devout Mississippi State fan. There’s just no shak’n the faith! What’s a gay and gal to do in a situation like this? They should fall madly in love, of course.

We can agree to disagree…right?…..right! Don’t ya just love this seventies look.

I can’t wait till their wedding in November. It’s gonna be fabulous!

A day in the country

Hey internet……it’s Tuesday morning and quite cool outside and I’m loving it! I thought I would post some images I made last week during an impromptu drive in the country. Who could ever forget the weather we’ve had?!? I decided that instead of editing in my office during another dreary day, I needed a break. So off I went.

This is Pepe. I wondered if he would ever be still long enough for a good shot. He is only about 6 inches tall and a live wire, but he has definitely stole my heart!

Pepe belongs to Mr. Thomas (whom I would be glad to call my grandpa…sweetest man alive!). This is actually how he was standing while we were talking…I couldn’t resist.

Ya know…only in the south are we so smart that we can find multiple uses for almost anything! Check out the “wood pile holder”. Genius, don’t ya think? Flynt has worked with the power company for 29 years….thought of him when I saw this. I was intrigued when I saw this…maybe I’m a little strange! (I know most people would agree)Just take a look at the sky. Solid cloud cover…….ugh.

You can see the first signs of fall in the trees. Beautiful, even on this cloudy day.

Made some new friends along the way…. I think he felt the need to protect his ladies….. I know he was glad I stayed on my side of the fence……or maybe it was the other way around. We will never know. On the way home, which just happens to be on the other side of town, in the country, I spotted something I had not seen in a long time…….can you see it?

Yes it’s true, it’s really true! Sunshine!!! On this cloudy, rainy, dreary day, God picked up my spirits with this glimmer of sunshine. In the words of John Denver: “Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy”

During an engagement session last week, I had a few moments before my couple got to our destination. So I took advantage of the extra time and explored. This is where my topic of the day came in. I’m not sure if it’s someone’s idea of art….but, I thought it was very interesting! Some people just can’t throw anything away! Well, at least they found a way to repurpose something used. What do you think? Do you know where this is? Hint….it is in the city of Tupelo. If you guess right, you might just win a prize…….like a used bag of chips or something.

The Birthday Bash of the year!

What do you do on Labor Day? You have a birthday party of course! Boy, did we partay! Aint no party like a “surprise” party cause a “surprise” party don’t stop! Actually, there really wasn’t a surprise to it at all. Flynt knew about it the whole time. We just kept calling it a “surprise” party because it was originally supposed to be one. It got a few laughs, what can I say! I love my family. They mean the world to me. We had so much fun! My little kitchen was just a buzzing with chit chat and laughter. Life just doesn’t get any better than this. We had people from Texas, Alabama, and dont’ forget Mississippi. I really wanted Flynt to feel special on his day. I’ve never seen a man work harder than he does. He does without so that his family can have what they need…..so I wanted to do this for him. Oh, by the way, he loves me very, very, very much!

Mississippi State won their 1st game of the season with their new head coach……Flynt was wearing his colors proudly. At the time of the party, Ole Miss was playing their 1st game of the season…..they also won. Adam was wearing his colors proudly. We are a house devided when it comes to Ole Miss and State. We cope. hehehehe. Even Houston High School won…..my gosh, could it get any more interesting than this. I am sure this year will be another year to remember (or forget). I wonder. O, I need to get back to the partay……

I’m really not sure what’s going on here, but I think it had something to do with Paul and a light and a cup, maybe!

Flynt’s new toy!

Yesterday was Flynt’s birthday. Although his b-day partay is this Sunday, I decided it just wasn’t right to not get b-day presents on your b-day! In other words, I was afraid he would see his present from me because it was a little bit too big to gift wrap. You have to understand my man to understand why I chose this particular gift….he loves to work in our yard! I mean, he’ll go out early in the morning and not come in until after dark….even in our wonderful southern humidity. He will walk miles and miles in one day, carrying stuff he has clipped or cut down. Back and forth, back and forth. I don’t see how he does it. So I decided that if ever there was somebody that needed a wheel barrow, it was Flynt. So here I go to the store to make my purchase for the wheel barrow….and I find out that a wheel barrow if almost as pricey as a pull along cart that hooks to the back of a riding lawn mower! Well, that was a no brainer….the “u-haul it” as we’ve named it, came home with me. So you better believe he was out there today mowing the grass with his new toy right behind him. He looked so cute. So you know me, picture time! I don’t think he really was too crazy about my idea, but he went along.I thought Abby and Carlos would make the pic look that much better…..note to self…..Don’t mess with a man while he’s working……noted!

I didn’t have to tell him twice!!! He was outta there!

It's Saturday night and all that's on TV is "The Mummy". Everybody in my family had something to do but me. Don't you feel sad for poor little ole me? Hahaha. I started out watching "The Mummy" but I got bored....you can only watch that sort of thing so many times before you just want to go nuts, ya know? So, I decided to post some pics of Jessica, my beautiful daughter, whom I am so very proud of. I can't begin to tell you how many times we've been told that we look alike....huh? I don't get it! We don't even have the same hair color! Oh well, internet, you can tell me what you think...OK? I think she could have had a future as a model.....the mama in me. Isn't she gorgeous!

Whew! Have I been busy or what?!? Do you remember the Bobst Family teaser? They are such a great family from Crystal River, FL. They had me out for the second year in a row. New Family Members? (or not!)

There we were (Flynt and myself).....minding our own business, enjoying a night of TV, not thinking about much, just trying to wind down another day. About eleven o'clock, here comes our children(21 & 17)....home. I heard this sound that only EXCITED children make(this is where I should have held my breath because I should, by now, know that when my children make that sound....here comes trouble!). The next thing I see is not one but two puppies! Where did these come from.....IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR DRIVEWAY....Jess and Caleb found them laying together in the driveway of our home. I would like to know who put them there. I have a bone to pick with you!!! Of course, by the time they got to me, Jess and Caleb are totally in love with them. What in the world do you do in the middle of the night when two totally cute little puppies come (they hope) to live with you? Well, you give them some milk and find a box and put them in the washroom, that's what you do. In the morning they are still just as cute as you remember them from the night before. After calling around....nobody knows anything! Do you think it is possible that someone decided we need more love in our lives? That's what Jessica thinks. Needless to say, we had to record how cute they are:

I can truly say "A great time was to be had by all"! I love my job....I know I keep saying this, but it's TRUE. Brittany and Chase were married at Brittany's parents home in Gore Springs. It is an amazing place...very secluded (which is my kinda place), and very lovely. Cheryl and Lewis, you did a wonderful job getting everything ready for Brittany and Chase's big day.

Brittany and Chase are such a fun couple.

Be sure you notice the goldfish in the arrangements! What a great idea! Don't ya just love the simplicity...it actually makes such a statement.

I love how romantic a silhouette of the bride and groom can be. I snapped a quick one of Brittany and her dad just before they were about to walk down the isle. It's great to capture those moments.

"Love, pure and simple". I am so glad I got to spend the day with you guys. I hope your lives together are filled with much happiness.

It all started when I took Rebbecca's senior pictures last October. Michelle, her sister came along with her and we started talking....the next thing I know, I'm taking Michelle and Josh's engagement pictures....and then it seemed like it was time for their wedding. It was great. Their colors were lime and aqua. Beautiful. Michelle wore her gorgeous jet black hair in an elegant style with a wedding flower behind her ear. She was stunning...that's sums it up...STUNNING!

Josh was wonderful...I think he had a smile on his face most of the day. Thanks, Josh for being so easy to work with. Your groomsmen were a blast!!!

By the way, I need to give a shout out to my best second shooter in the world, Caleb! Thanks a bunch, dude. You'rrrrrrre great!

Hey everyone out there in internet land! I know, where have I been? Taking photos, that's where... I am continually amazed at what a great job I have! I thank the Lord for allowing me to do something that I love. Life has really been a blur for the past several weeks at the Sharp house. We had a family gathering at my house during Spring Break...it was wonderful to catch up on life and love and happiness and the pursuit of justice, ect. (Just kidding about the "pursuit of justice" thing! Just a little humor people, please....lighten up!) It's so much fun to see how people change over the course of maybe a year or so. Especially the little ones. This is Lana...she is the cutest thing!

During and after Spring Break I was working alot! The weather, being the way it is here in the south, is always a factor. So, when Spring Breat came around, I had plenty to do. I'll be posting Senior Pics very soon, maybe today! Have a great day and remember: God loves YOU!

Hey everyone.....did you think that I had kicked the bucket???? Well, at least not yet. My website has been down for the last month. I couldn't upload anything. Can you say "frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!" I can happily say that everything is running smooth as silk, now.
By the way, I now am on Facebook! I know, that is a strange thing for me. It is completely for business. I might have to socialize a "little" while I'm on there but don't tell anybody. Haha!
Oh yes, Caleb and Josie went to Josie's Senior Party the other night. The theme was 60's & 70's. We had a great time dressing them up. Here are a couple of shots.

How do you like the 70's action I ran on this one. I thought it made it look groovy man!

Abby is a real party animal at heart. Just kidding for those of you who know her. She wanted to get dressed up for Josie to see. She wore her pink leggins with sequins. She dressed in the wrong decade but that didn't bother her....she wanted in on the fun!

The Bullard Family

We were at "Meet the Toppers" on the Courthouse Square in Houston, when Talitha yelled "Bridget, call me in October, we want to do pictures again!" Well, I was so excited because the Bullard family is great! I had the best time at their home last year, and I knew this year would be no different.

I brought Flynt along with me to share in the fun! They have birds, donkeys, dogs, cats, horses, goats, rock piles, a mountain of sweet potatoes ...I'm not sure what else they have but, oh yeah...they have children!!! This is the best family, always filled with busy-ness. Talitha will let you know very quick that it is God's blessings that makes them who they are....David, Talitha, Patrick, Sandy, Holly, Millie, and Henry.

Seniors are so great. I love to have a "Senior Session". I know there is always fun to be had. And this day was no exception... Rebecca Mays is a senior this year at Houlka High School. She is beautiful in every way....especially those EYES!

Oh, by the way, you'll also be seeing her equally beautiful sister on the blog before long because Melissa is getting married in May and I'm doing the photography! I can't wait to see her all dressed up for her wedding!

Hello everyone out there in internet land. Don't you just love LOVE? Kristen and Jonathan are engaged to be married Aug. 2009. They are the nicest two people you'll ever want to meet. Abbey All Dressed Up!

Well, here I am sitting in front of my computer thinking of all the editing that I need to be doing! But a girl's gotta have fun right? I thought I would show everybody what one of my most favorite people in the world looks like when she comes from the beauty shop!!!! This is our Abbey....and yes, I did refer to her as a person...she doesn't think she's a dog....doesn't want to have anything to do with dogs.....just her people. We love her. Doesn't she look wonderful all dressed up in bows, bandannas and toe nail polish! Of course we had just got home from her groomer when I took this because Abbey is a country girl, she'll not have any of that girly look...those bows were off within 30 minutes of being at home. She will, however, leave her bandanna on only because I know she loves me and I like it when she has her bandanna on, ha ha. She has a whole wardrobe full....five or six for every season all thanks to Nancy, Abbey's groomer.

A few weeks ago, I met with an amazing family, The Bobst'. I had a great time with them. They have a vacation home near my hometown. Hey! My name is Bridget Sharp.

For years, it seemed everyone was telling me "You should start doing this (photography) for a living!" To which I would say "I'm enjoying what I do,
if I go into business, I won't love it like I do now!" Well, God really does have a plan for our lives, doesn't He! I thank God for the opportunities He's given me.

Years later, here I sit, upgrading my website that I single handedly built from the ground up!
Go Me!!! Not only do I take senior pictures, but wedding are my specialty now!
I also take family, banquet, anniversary and childrens portraits.

A word about weddings... two people committing their lives to one another and to God is such a precious time. I take that very seriously.
Nothing can replace those moments. I combine a "Classic" and "Photojounalistic" style of photography that appeals to everybody.
Their photos will tell a story of the bride and groom's wedding day.
To remind them of all the passion, all the love, all the jitters, the very essence of "their day" years later.

I love photography and I love having my own photography business. The shutter bug bit, and bit hard several years ago.
